Who are we?

Our website address is: https://www.michel-dehon.be

One of our main priorities is to protect the privacy of our visitors. This privacy policy document outlines what information we collect and how we use it.

If you have any further questions or would like more information regarding our privacy policy, please do not hesitate to contact us by email at mdehon@icloud.com.

This privacy policy applies solely to our online activities and applies to visitors to our website with respect to information they have shared and/or received on the website. This policy does not apply to information collected offline or via channels other than this website.

Comments

When you leave a comment on our site, we collect the data entered in the comment form, along with your IP address and your browser’s user agent, to help us detect any inappropriate comments.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also known as a hash) may be submitted to the Gravatar service to verify whether you are using it. Gravatar’s privacy policy can be accessed here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment has been validated, your profile picture will become publicly visible next to your comment.

Media

If uploading images to the site, we advise that you avoid uploading images containing EXIF data of GPS coordinates. People visiting your site could download and extract location data from these images

Cookies

When posting a comment on our website, you will be asked for your name, email address and website to be recorded as cookies. This is only for your convenience so that you do not have to enter this information if you post another comment at a later date. These cookies expire after one year.

If you go to the login page, a temporary cookie will be created to determine whether your browser accepts cookies or not. This does not contain any personal data and will be automatically deleted when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will set a number of cookies to store your login information and screen preferences. The lifetime of a connection cookie is two days, while that of a screen preference cookie is one year. If you check ‘Remember me’, your login cookie will be stored for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookie will be deleted.

When editing or publishing a post, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal data. It simply indicates the ID of the post you have just edited. This expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this website may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Content embedded from other websites behaves in the same way as it would if the user were visiting that other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking tools, and track your interactions with this embedded content if you have an account on their website.

Password reset

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long your data is stored for

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows subsequent comments to be automatically recognised and approved instead of being left in the moderation queue.

For accounts that are registered on our website (if any), we also store the personal data indicated in their profile. All accounts can view, change or delete their personal information at any time (with the except of their ID). Site managers can also view and edit this information.

The rights you have over your data

If you have an account or have left comments on our website, you can request to receive a file containing all the personal data we hold about you, including that you have provided us with. You can also request that your personal data be deleted. This does not cover data stored for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Visitor feedback

Visitor feedback can be verified using an automated spam-detection service.

Complaints

If you have a complaint or question regarding the processing of your personal data, please get in touch. However, if no amicable solution can be found, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority for the protection of personal data by contacting:
